How to take photos that make your outfit sell faster
Beautiful photos are the key to selling faster on Kamciyo. Traditional wear is rich in detail — from silk embroidery to luxurious lace— and buyers want to see it clearly before they fall in love!
Follow these simple tips to make your listings shine and give your outfit the best chance of finding a new home and creating new stories.
1. Use Good Lighting
Natural daylight works best. Take photos near a window or outside, and avoid dark corners or yellow indoor lighting. A bright, clear background will make your outfit colours stand out.
2. Show the Full Outfit
Capture the garment in its entirety so buyers can see the shape and length. If it’s a set (like a sari with blouse or asoebi), photograph all the pieces together.
3. Highlight the Details
Buyers love to see fabric textures, embroidery, beadwork, and trims. Include close-ups of special details — and don’t forget to show small flaws honestly (such as a missing bead or faint mark). Transparency builds trust.
4. Keep Backgrounds Simple
Choose a plain wall, door, or sheet. Avoid clutter so the focus stays on your outfit. Think of your background as a stage, and let the garment take the spotlight.
5. Show Fit When You Can
If you’re comfortable, model the outfit (faces can be cropped if you prefer). If not, use a mannequin or hanger. Outfits always sell faster when buyers can picture how they’ll look when worn.
6. Capture Multiple Angles
Front, back, side, and close-ups. The more views you show, the more confident a buyer will feel in making an offer. Aim for 3–5 images minimum.
