This is probably why you are here…
I had a wardrobe full of beautiful traditional African wear that I had only worn once. Too special to throw away, yet left hidden. I didn’t know what else to do with them. And I knew I wasn’t alone...
Whether it’s a sari, kimono, lehenga, abaya, or any other cultural attire, many of us have these pieces tucked away at the back of our wardrobes.
Each garment carries a story. A memory. A moment in time. When it’s worn again, it begins a new story — one worth celebrating.
I wanted to extend the life of my clothes by reselling them, but on traditional resale marketplaces they got lost among endless western styles.
Preloved traditional wear deserved its own space — a platform where it could be seen, valued, and cherished. That’s why Kamciyo was born.
Kamciyo is a community platform that connects buyers and sellers of traditional clothing. For now, we operate as a classifieds-style marketplace — sellers list their outfits, and buyers arrange sales directly with them. We don’t sell the items ourselves; instead, we provide the space where outfits can begin their next chapter.
Our mission is to make preloved traditional wear from every culture accessible, affordable, sustainable, and culturally celebrated — helping communities share clothing and the stories behind them, reduce waste, and preserve heritage.
